Bulb
Light bulbs are an essential part of our indoor and outdoor lighting. Ever since Thomas Edison invented the incandescent bulb in the 19th century, electric lighting technology has been constantly evolving.
Today, there are many different types of light bulb on the market, with different characteristics and technologies:
- Incandescent bulbs, which work by heating a filament, offer warm light but consume a lot of energy.
- Fluorescent bulbs, more energy-efficient, use fluorescent tube technology to produce light.
- LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs are by far the most economical and environmentally friendly. They also last much longer than other types of bulb.
The choice of bulb depends on various criteria, such as the desired light output, color temperature (warm white, cool white), design and, above all, energy efficiency. Consumers are increasingly sensitive to these aspects, with a view to saving energy and respecting the environment.
