FAQ: your questions are answered

Many of you ask us about production times, sample requests, delivery and many other issues. Today, we answer your questions!

How does the sample request work?

If you are not sure which colour you want for your lampshade, you can ask for samples when you order. Request samples, then confirm and pay for your order. Our team will then send you the samples by post, and your order will be put on hold until the colour is validated. To validate the right colour, simply call 03 66 72 90 60 or send an email to contact@abat-jours.com .

Please note: it is not necessary to place a new order to validate your colours, you just need to contact us again. Otherwise you will be invoiced twice unnecessarily.

What are the delivery times?

After validation of your order, it will take an average of 10 working days for the lampshade to be manufactured before it is entrusted to the delivery services (within 2 to 3 days).

Our company produces each of your orders by hand and on demand. Our production times are therefore longer than those of the big brands, but we offer you a unique and local product!

What is a re-entrant?

The recess is the part of the metal structure that goes up inside the shade to support the bulb.

On classic structures, this recess measures 4cm in height, so be careful to take it into account in your measurements, especially for a small lampshade, otherwise the bulb may protrude from the shade.

If you need a smaller or bigger recess, it is possible. Just specify it in the comments of your order so we can send you a quote for the specific recess.

Where to measure the shade's inset?

For a standard inset, measure the straight height from the bottom of the shade to the mounting washer

For a specific re-entrant, measure the height straight between the top of the shade and the mounting washer

What is a diffuser?

On a suspension lamp, a diffuser is a piece of fabric placed below the bulb to ensure less glare on the ceiling lamp. It is available as an option for every suspension lamp offered on our site.

What is the difference between E14 and E27 bulbs?

It's all about the size of the base: E14 bulbs have a 14mm base, and E27 has a 27mm base. Don't forget to check your bulb base before ordering your lampshade!
